IMPROVE YOUR WATER & SAFEGUARD WHAT MATTERS MOST

The quality of the water in your home affects your fixtures, plumbing, appliances, and – most importantly – your family.

CLEAN, CLEAR DRINKING WATER

  • Safer, better tasting water
  • Protect against PFOA/PFOS or “forever chemicals”
  • Less plastic bottle waste
  • Reduces lead, cysts, chlorine taste/odors & sediment

WATER HARDNESS & SCALE REDUCTION

  • Extends appliance lifespan
  • High energy efficiency on water-using appliances
  • Reduces scale build-up
  • Prevents new scale formation

BENEFITS OF A WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

Hard water contains high levels of dissolved calcium and magnesium minerals. When heated, these minerals form limescale, which builds up and wreaks havoc on your plumbing system and water-using appliances. If you’re seeing signs your home has hard water, we invite you to learn more about Roto-Rooter’s water softening and anti-scale systems.

WATER FACTS

Hard Water

Hard water contains high levels of minerals like calcium, iron and magnesium, which cause scale buildup to damages appliances and plumbing fixtures. A home water softener restores balance by lowering these mineral levels so they cannot cause damage.

Forever Chemicals

There are over 4,700 “forever chemicals,” (PFAs) in your water that do not occur in nature and cannot be removed by most municipal water providers. PFAs are toxic and have been linked to cancer.

Unfiltered Tap Water

Tap water often contains harmful contaminants, including chemicals, metals, and sediment, which can cause odors, off-flavors and put your family’s health at risk. Water filtration systems improve the quality in every way.

Bottled Water

Plastic water bottles end up in landfills, oceans, and rivers. They also kill animals and leach chemicals into the environment. Unfortunately, only 12% of plastic water bottles ever get recycled. You can stop buying bottled water if you have a water filtration system at home.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Many homeowners assume municipal tap water is already the quality they want. Unfortunately, that’s not a given. The best way to determine the quality of your water and discover which water treatment systems may benefit your home and family is to have a free home water quality test conducted by your local Roto-Rooter expert.

Different water quality concerns present with different symptoms. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms below, or have any concerns about the safety of your water, we recommend scheduling a free home water quality test:

  • Chlorine taste & odor
  • Mineral build-up on fixtures
  • Reduced flow & pressure
  • Poor appliance performance
  • Spotty & filmy glassware/dishes
  • Cloudy, murky water

Roto-Rooter is happy to install a water treatment system purchased from another retailer! However, we don’t recommend purchasing your own water treatment system without first consulting a qualified water quality specialist like Roto-Rooter. Your home’s water treatment needs will depend on several factors including water hardness, number of people in the home, and water consumption. Your Roto-Rooter expert can help determine the best solution to meet your family’s needs.

Water softeners and water filtration systems are very different. Softeners address hardness by reducing the levels of dissolved calcium and magnesium found in your home’s water. However, if your water is unsafe to drink prior to softening, it will still be unsafe once softened. A water filtration system can reduce these potentially harmful contaminants and ensure clean, safe water for you and your family. However, it will do nothing to address the formation of scale. Whether or not you need both systems will depend on the results of your free home water quality test and your personal water quality concerns.
